The Wessex Award
It is difficult for young singers to establish themselves in their careers and they frequently experience financial difficulties. We therefore established an annual award in 1997 to support outstanding young singers from the Glyndebourne Chorus. The prize is currently £2,500 and is intended to help pay for extra lessons, scores, language tuition, travel and other necessities.
The award winner in 2024 was Charles Cunliffe. who is pictured centre with Brigid Brett and Max Wilson at this year’s ceremony.

Previous winners of the Wessex Award include: George Reynolds (2023), Ffion Edwards (2022), Jack Sandison (2021), and Jade Moffat (2019).
