Our most recent event in 2025 was a very enjoyable outing to Beaulieu on July 5th for a concert by young members of the Glyndebourne Chorus. We were treated to a variety of songs sung by Mariana Fernandes, Melissa Gregory, Matthew McKinney and Daniel Vening, accompanied by pianist Harry Rylance.
Earlier in the year, we had a fascinating talk by the costume and set designer, Gary McCann. The composer of “Under the Greenwood Tree”, Paul Carr, also revealed some interesting insights into the work of creating an opera.
And the highly promising young baritone, Charles Cunliffe, the winner of our Wessex Award this year (see “The Wessex Award”), treated us to a delightful selection of songs and operatic arias at an evening recital.
